Weather
- Hi/Lo Temps: The forecast for the ski resort on Saturday is a high in the low 30s and lows in the upper 10s. Please pack enough layers to keep warm
- Rain/Snow: Right now, it looks like all the snow will fall on Wednesday and Thursday with cloudy conditions on Friday and Saturday.
What Clothing to Bring:
- Scout Uniform - Class A & B
- Pants
- Long-sleeve Shirt
- Hat
- Underwear
- PJs/something to wear to bed
- Sweatshirt or Fleece
- Thermal base layer (top and bottom)
- Synthetic or wool base layers for top & bottom - it's better to be warm than cold, you can always shed layers. Synthetic materials help to wick moisture away from your skin. Once again, do not wear cotton as a base layer.
- Boots and Warm Socks (No CROCS!)
- Moisture-wicking ski/snowboard socks (wool or fleece) are the best. No cotton. Wear only one pair of socks.
- Winter hat and gloves or mittens (mittens do a much better job keeping your hands warm)
- Ski bib or pants (these are available for rent if you need)
- Waterproof ski jacket or shell that can go over fleece and other layers (snow will quickly make you get wet and wet & cold don't mix)
- Ski mask/balaclava or other neckwear like this
- Ski googles or sunglasses
- Swimsuit & towel (hotel has an indoor pool. Swimming will only be permitted under Scouting America guidelines, which includes Mr. Hall and other adults present for water supervision sake)
Gear:
- Backpack or Duffel Bag
- Day pack
- Personal First Aid Kit
- Water Bottle (filled up before arriving at hut)
- Sunscreen
- Hand warmers
- Sunglasses
- Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap & shampoo if you plan to take a shower)
- Deck of Playing Cards/Game (optional for downtime)
- Scoutbook
- Extra money for Saturday dinner and convenience store stop (we will likely make a stop on the way home on Sunday)
- Scout Spirit
