TROOP MEETING MONDAY!

Just a quick reminder that our normal troop meetings resume this week, so uniform is back to Class A with Class B underneath. Be sure to bring your handbook! Meetings will start at 7:00 pm and last for 90 minutes, ending around 8:30 pm

NEW ROCK CLIMBING TRIP

ROCKY FACE REC AREA | SEPT 12-14

Our next camping trip will be a climbing trip during which our Scouts can climb real/natural rock walls! We'll be working the Mecklenburg County Council climbing team at Rocky Face Recreation area in Alexander County. There is no experience necessary and all of the climbing gear is provided.

NEW FALL TROOP ELECTIONS

AUG 25: SP/ASPL | SEPT 8: PL/APL

It's time to elect our next Troop and Patrol Leadership. Whether you plan to run for an elected position or you are seeking an appointed position, the deadline to file is Sunday, August 24. This allows time to have your name added to the ballots for election on for the following Monday.

Just as in the spring, the first week of elections will feature ballots for Senior Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader only. The following week we will elect Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders.

NEW FALL COURT OF HONOR

SEPT 8 @ 7:00 PM IN THE CHAPEL

It's time to recognize all of the hard work of our Scouts for the past 4 months! We will hold our next Court of Honor at 7:00 pm on September 8th in the old chapel at the church. 

We will be awarding ranks earned since June as well as all of the merit badges since summer camp. If you worked on a merit badge outside of camp, be sure to turn in a blue card to Mrs. Adams by tomorrow, August 25th or have your Merit Badge Counselor mark your completion in Scoutbook.

TROOP MEETING MONDAY!

Just a quick reminder that final Summer Troop meeting is Monday. We'll meet in Class B uniform from 7-8 pm at the Scout Hut.

□ NEXT PLC IS MONDAY AT 6PM! □

Our next PLC is set for Monday at 6pm. We will be planning our meetings for all of September so it is important that Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders, Scribe, Patrol Leaders (or Assistant Patrol Leaders) and Troop Guides attend!

Our next camping trip will be a climbing trip during which our Scouts can climb real/natural rock walls! We'll be working the Mecklenburg County Council climbing team at Rocky Face Recreation area in Alexander County. There is no experience necessary and all of the climbing gear is provided.

Mr. Hall is aiming to have a signup available by Wednesday, August 20th. Until then, you can read more about the climbing at Rocky Face by clicking below.

□ Help! Missing Neckerchief! □

One of our Scouts' neckerchief disappeared on Alvin, the church bus, this weekend. If your Scout came home with one, please bring it to the meeting on the 18th!

FOR AUG 4TH, 2025

SUMMER TROOP MEETING MONDAY!

Our next summer troop meeting is set for tomorrow, August 4th at 7:00 pm. Just as with our other summer meetings, uniform is Class B or scout appropriate t-shirt and the meeting is scheduled for only an hour. This week, we will cover rank requirements covering aquatics safety in preparation for the whitewater trip.

⚠️ NO PLC THIS MONDAY! ⚠️

Our calendar had tomorrow listed for our next Patrol Leaders' Council. However, this is being rescheduled to August 18th at 6:00 pm as Mr. Hall has a conflict at work that will prevent him from arriving in time for the PLC.

□ Help! Missing Handbook! □

One of our Scouts' handbook disappeared after our last meeting on July 21st. It was in the basic tan/green handbook cover. Please double-check you/your Scout did not grab it by accident last Monday!

INFO WHITEWATER RAFTING

CHATTOOGA RIVER | AUG 8-10TH

The signup for the Whitewater trip is now closed. If you are signed up to attend, there is some important items you need to complete before we depart.

First, parents should all have received an email about signing the waiver for your scout to raft. There is a link to the left for the waiver list for each rafting option. Please be sure to complete this by August 6th.

We also need payment before we depart on August 8th. Please contact Mr. Hall if you have questions about what you owe.

Finally, there is a link to the left for our itinerary and packing list. Please be sure to review!

NEW 2025-2026 CALENDAR

The 2025-2026 Troop calendar is fully available in both Scoutbook and the Troop Google Calendar (see link above to subscribe). Most camping trips will not have a set location, but do have dates listed for your planning purposes.

And, just as a reminder, here are the remaining dates for this summer:

• AUG 8-10: WHITEWATER RAFTING
• AUG 18: SUMMER MEETING
• AUG 25: REGULAR MEETING

Finally, please remember that advancement is still possible over the summer. You can still contact Mr. Hall for Scoutmaster Conferences and Mrs. Adams for Boards of Review. Summer is a great time to rank up!
