⚠️ VIRGINIA CREEPER TRAIL UPDATE! ⚠️

Hurricane Helene delivered historic flooding to Damascus, Va and the immediate surrounding area. The Creeper Trail is closed indefinitely, the campground where we stay has been closed until December and US 58, the only road in and out of the area, has been washed out in multiple spots. We are actively looking for new trip options for October 11th-13th and hope to have more information soon. Please keep all of those affected by Helene in Western NC, Southwestern VA and Eastern TN. You can help now with their recovery by donating to the Red Cross Hurricane Helene Drive

Service Hours Philadelphia Presbyterian Stewardship Lunch

OCT 6TH | 11:15 am - 12:30 pm

This past week, PPC asked if Scouts from Troop 65 could help serve Philadelphia Presbyterian's Fellowship Meal. This would involve helping dish out food, filling drinks and clearing tables. I know this is tough with other church services, but please volunteer if you can. This will qualify for service hours for rank.

We are now booked for our 2025 Summer Camp destination - Woodruff Scout Camp in Blairsville, GA (near GA, NC and TN border)! It's widely considered one of the best BSA camps in the country and has some pretty unique features and activities. Our next camping trip will be a return to the Virginia Creeper Trail! We'll be camping at Beartree Campground and biking the 17 miles from Whitetop Station to Damascus. Don't worry about the mileage as it is all downhill or flat. We even saw a toddler on bike with training wheels make it two years ago!

This year, we will have the AOLs from Pack 65 join us to see why life in Troop 65 is so much fun! We are also planning to offer the cycling merit badge for anyone interested. Please click the button below to RSVP. We ask that you RSVP by September 29th!

New Jack Eagle Scout   Service Project Work Day

Sept 21st @ 8:30 am | Philadelphia Pres

Jack is ready to begin his Eagle Scout Service Project and he needs volunteers.

He's working to repair the rear entrance to Philadelphia Presbyterian Church (the one through the woods across street from Bain).

REMINDER! FALL COURT OF HONOR IS MONDAY NIGHT @ 7:00 PM in the Old Chapel (next to cemetery)! Uniform is full Class A with Sash!

We will be recognizing and awarding all ranks and merit badges earned over the summer. Please drop off your Scout at the Chapel and grab a seat inside!

Rescheduled Canoe Camping

NEW DATE TBD

After discussion among Troop leadership, we need to reschedule this camping trip due to need for build days for the scare areas of the Haunted Woods fundraiser this fall.

I apologize about any inconvenience, but we will get this scheduled later this fall or next spring! The success of our fall fundraiser is paramount for the Troop's budget.

Back after popular demand, the Troop 65 Haunted Woods!  Anyone who grew up in Mint Hill in the 80s and 90s knows how much fun was had at the Troop 65 Haunted Woods trail. BUT, for us to get it going again, WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Thank you to all who attended the Pack 65 Open House! The event was a great success and early reports from Pack leadership indicate around 15 new Scouts are joining the 65 family!

New Troop Fall Court of Honor

MON SEPT 9TH @ 7:00 PM | PPC

Next Monday is our next Court of Honor. It will start at 7 PM in the Kerr Building (gym next to Scout Hut). We will be handing out all the hard earned award from summer and Summer Camp!

Parents, please drop off your scouts no later than 6:45 and then proceed into the Kerr building and grab a seat. Scouts should be in full Class A uniform with sash.
