REMINDER - TROOP MEETING MONDAY @ 7PM!

Just a quick reminder that our next Troop meeting is Monday at 7:00 PM! Uniform is Class A with Class B Underneath

□ TRACKING WEATHER FOR MONDAY □

We are keeping our eyes on the newest tropical depression in the Atlantic which may impact the Charlotte area on Monday night. Right now, forecasts keep waffling back and forth with every National Hurricane Center update regarding how much rain and wind we will see. Please keep an eye on your email and Band on Sunday and Monday in case we need to cancel our Monday meeting.

REMINDER CAMPING W/ AOLs

CONGAREE NATIONAL PARK | OCT 10-12

For our October trip, we will camp and hike at Congaree National Park just outside of Columbia, SC as we welcome our AOL friends from Pack 65 to help them complete their Outdoor Adenturer Adventure as well as letting them see how fun it is to Scout in Troop 65.

Congaree National Park is the largest intact expanse of old growth bottomland hardwood forest remaining in the southeastern United States. This allows for amazing biodiversity. On our last trip to Congaree, we saw tons of cool animals and crazy large trees on our hike.

Our next PLC is Monday, September 22nd at 6pm. We will be planning our meetings for October and selecting our November trip. Newly elected Senior Patrol Leader, Asst Senior Patrol Leaders, Patrol Leaders, Scribe and Troop Guides need to attend or delegate someone to take their place.

⛺ DON'T FORGET! DRY OUT YOUR TENTS ⛺

I want to say thank you to all of the Scouts and adults who joined us for the climbing trip this weekend. Please remind your Scout to set up their tent this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon to let it out. If your Scout was tasked with drying out a troop tent, please don't forget to bring it back tomorrow night dry and packed up!

□ PLC POSTPONED UNTIL SEPT 22ND □

We are postponing our next PLC until Monday, September 22nd because we still need to elect our next group of patrol leaders. We had to delay our elections from last week due to lack of candidates. Scouts - please sign up ASAP to help fill these positions in our troop. The link to signup for positions is still below!

SEPT 15: Patrol/Asst Patrol Leaders

As noted above, we had to delay our patrol elections due to lack of candidates. As a result, we are extending the deadline to file until Monday, September 14th. 

The form also has spots to indicate desire for a non-elected position such as quartermaster, scribe, chaplain's aide, bugler and more. We still need people to fill these roles too!

FALL COURT OF HONOR MONDAY!

Just a quick reminder that our next Court of Honor is Monday at 7:00 PM in the Old Chapel (next to cemetery)! Uniform is full Class A with Sash!
We will be recognizing and awarding all ranks, merit badges and awards earned over the summer. Parents, be sure to join us! Please drop off your Scout at the Chapel and grab a seat inside!

□ THANK YOU OPEN HOUSE VOLUNTEERS □

I want to say thank you to all of the Scouts who volunteered a couple of hours of their Saturday to come help at the Pack 65 Open House. The potential new Cub Scouts (plus those already at the Pack) enjoyed learning about the ax yard, checking out our tent and snacking on some s'mores! Helping at these events are critical not only for the success and longevity of the Pack, but also the Troop by inspiring younger kids to sign up and continue Scouting through their youth.

NEW ROCK CLIMBING TRIP

ROCKY FACE REC AREA | SEPT 12-14

Our next camping trip is next weekend! We will be will climb and rappel on real/natural rock walls at Rocky Face Recreation Area! No experience is necessary and all of the climbing gear is provided. 

With the Court of Honor on Monday, we need all attending this trip to stick around after the Court of Honor for meal planning!

NO TROOP MEETING MONDAY!

Just a quick reminder that we do not have a troop meeting on Monday, September 1st due to the Labor Day holiday. Everyone have a great holiday!

PACK 65/TROOP 65/TROOP 1265 OPEN HOUSE

Come help us recruit new Cub Scouts for Pack 65 and new Scouts for Troop 65 and Troop 1265! We'll be setting up a mock campsite and s'mores station while the Pack has a bounce house for the younger kids to enjoy!

NEW ROCK CLIMBING TRIP

ROCKY FACE REC AREA | SEPT 12-14

Our next camping trip will be a climbing trip during which our Scouts can climb real/natural rock walls! We'll be working the Mecklenburg County Council climbing team at Rocky Face Recreation area in Alexander County. There is no experience necessary and all of the climbing gear is provided.

SEPT 8 @ 7:00 PM IN THE CHAPEL

It's time to recognize all of the hard work of our Scouts for the past 4 months! We will hold our next Court of Honor at 7:00 pm on September 8th in the old chapel at the church. 

We will be awarding ranks earned since June as well as all of the merit badges since summer camp. If you worked on a merit badge outside of camp, be sure to turn in a blue card to Mrs. Adams by tomorrow, August 25th or have your Merit Badge Counselor mark your completion in Scoutbook.
