2025 WHITEWATER TRIP ITINERARY AND PACKING LIST
Departure from Scout Hut - Friday, August 8th

What Clothing to Bring:
Gear:
- Please arrive at Hut at 4:30 pm to load gear. We need to depart by 5:00 pm as it is a 3 hour drive
- We are going to keep our summer theme going and wearing Class B for travel (unless you feel like wearing Class A)
- Please feed your Scout dinner and send with a snack for the drive before you arrive. If you would like to order a boxed meal from Chick-Fil-A, please do so by 10 am on on Friday, August 8th by going to this link
Arrival back at Scout Hut - Sunday, August 11th
- Estimated arrival back at Hut is 12:30 pm. Updates on ETA will come through Band and Text via Scoutbook. This is not when Scouts are cleared to leave.
- Scouts need to help unload Troop gear, unpack leftover food and clean up before being dismissed
- Please pack some snacks or extra cash for a gas station stop on the way back to Mint Hill

- Camp Rainey Mountain has spotty cell signal. Please feell free to contact Mr. Hall at (770) 601-1044 or call the camp directly during the trip should you need to contact the troop outside of our rafting hours
Payment:
- The cost of the trip is dependent on option selected. Please refer to your signup for the total needed to be paid.
- We need payment before they depart on Friday. If food/gas costs end up lower, we will refund any excess to Scout accounts.
- Please send extra money with your Scout(s) for dinner on Friday and a snack on the way home.
Weather
- Hi/Lo Temps: Upper 70s/Low 80s for highs and mid 60s at night
- Rain: The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with no rain, but the weather in the mountains can change at a moment's notice so be sure to Be Prepared!
What Clothing to Bring:
- Scout Uniform - Class B (Class A is optional on this trip)
- Pants
- Short sleeve shirt
- Long sleeve shirt/light jacket/hoodie for evenings/night
- Hat
- Underwear
- Swim Gear
- PJs/something to wear to bed
- Boots and Warm Socks
- Water shoes or sandals - something that will strap or conform to your feet. Flip flops and Crocs are not allowed by the rafting outfitter - the shoes must strap to your feet
- Rain Gear (you should be prepared…it’s the mountains)

- Backpack or Duffel Bag
- Day pack
- Ground Sleeping Pad
- Sleeping Bag rated to 50 degrees or below
- Pillow
- Personal First Aid Kit
- Water Bottle
- Sunscreen & bug spray
- Sunglasses
- Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap & shampoo if you plan to take a shower)
- Small Towel
- Toilet Paper – ½ roll (just in case)
- Headlamp w/ extra batteries
- Fishing Gear (rod, tackle box)
- Knife (Totin’ Chip Required)

- Extra money for dinner on Friday evening and convenience store stop (we will likely make a stop on the way home on Sunday)
