"Drying Out!"

Great night with another troop our size from Huntersville who hosted us for a little Scout trivia with collectible patches as prizes. Very comfortable sleeping conditions. Polar Bears were up and at 'em again this morning after the coolest night of the trip. Best breakfast so far with gravy biscuits that rival Hardee's. We scored another perfect 12 out of 12 on our campsite inspection. Michael Gilmore, PR Tucker and I had to depart this morning, just as the weather had improved. We're being replaced today by Kurt Pearson. What a great time so far. Hope the showers stay away! Our boys are doing great.

"Getting in the groove"
The boys got to sleep earlier and were therefore up earlier and feeling better. Polar Bears were rockin' again with Mr. Ligon and Mr. Tucker. The meals have been quick and nutritious. There's less confusion now that they know where they're going and when. We're dodging showers the best we can. As soon as things start to dry out it comes down again. At least it's cooling it off. We've been invited this week to watch "Wreck it Ralph" with another troop. They are showing it at their campsite. Kudos to our boys, we had a perfect 12 of 12 score on our campsite, graded for numerous items. Our goal is to hit that mark every day.

Day 1
Summer Camp is finally here!!!  Whoo Hoo!!!  Sunday departure went off very well... Thank you to all the helpers who made the checkin and getting off to camp a success!! The boys were all in good spirits and ready for a fun week... Drive up went well with stop for food in Shelby as ususal.

It was a long day Sunday getting checked in, getting 46 boys through the process is a substantial effort, you should thank the leaders who are at camp for thier efforts... in the end all is complete and the boys have been checked in and are getting settled into the routine.

Camp was hit by heavy rain during the night last evening, so that will serve as a QA checkpoint for the tents... as of this morning all the boys were off to class and learning the schedules.  The "new" campsite the troop is in this year seems to be wroking well, lots of room and in the woods, so everyone has room to spread out and get hammocks up if they choose.

First day of Polar Bear drew 12 boys this morning, hope to have more join the fun tomorrow... Will work on getting list of names soon.

More pictures and more updates will be posted later today, or early tomorrow... For now here are some early shots!!
