WHAT: Troop 65 August Outing – Hike and Kayak Day Trip
WHERE:  Crowder’s Mountain and Catawba River (Flat water) – Tailrace Marina
WHEN:  Saturday, August 25, 2011 (8:00am at Scout Hut – 8:00pm*)

DETAILS:
·         Wear Class A for travel (and Hiking boots)
·         COMPASS
·         Day Pack & Water bottle
·         Bring swim trunks, troop t-shirt + dry set of clothes
·         Towel, Sunglasses & Sunscreen
·         Hat or bandana
·         Water/River shoes or old tennis shoes (no flip flops or bare feet)
·         Bag Lunch and water bottle (Note: we will bring coolers to keep lunches in)
·         Personal First Aid Kit

ITINERARY: 
8:00am – 8:30am Meet at Scout Hut - Depart
10:00am – Trailhead at Crowder’s Mountain with map & compass
12:30pm – Crowder’s Mountain - (BYOBL) Bring your own bagged lunch
2:00pm – Tailrace Marina – Kayak on the Catawba
6:00pm – Picnic by the Patrols (Hot Dogs and Hamburgers)
8:00pm – Return to Scout Hut
